Friendship

Cinematics are triggered from different friendship levels, and can trigger when one or more characters reach a certain level, and the player enters the area of that scene.

Starship Romance (1)

To trigger this cinematic cutscene the player must have Doc12, Jimmy, Frances, or Robert at good friend friendship status or higher. It can be triggered any day of the week.

Dates

The player must give Doc12 a date invitation to trigger the date. This does not count towards the two gifts the player can give this character each week, and the player can only go on one date a week with a certain character, but can go on dates with other characters in that same week.

First Date

$playerName, this location is quite suitable for a date so I appreciate the thought and effort it took to arrange everything.

Um... I should mention... you also have an appealing appearance today as well.

Um... small talk is not one of my stronger qualities...

It was not really encouraged when I was growing up.

We mostly focused on our medical training from the day we were born.

I say 'we' because I was born in a facility with 26 identical siblings all created as clones to be trained as outstanding medical professionals.

As you probably know, cloning was outlawed many years ago before my birth. So, it made The Facility, where I was raised, an illegal operation.

Is this the first time you've met a clone?

PLAYER: You're the first.

That is very unusual since many clones take on highly skilled positions throughout Space Alliance.

PLAYER: I've met others.

Not surprising since we exist across many professions. And even though some of us try to hide our true origins, we tend to be easy to identify.

Most of us never experienced common human nurturing or what you would consider rites of passage.

Frances adopted me in my adolescent years, after The Facility was shut down.

She has been teaching me how to tune into my feelings, while allowing me to continue my medical training.

But I have yet to understand the value in some emotions...

What do you value more?

I have been told I can come across a little harsh and cold sometimes, but I am trying to work on breaking those habits.

PLAYER: Professional Goals

Me too. Professional goals are just easier to identify and are more logical.

PLAYER: Meaningful Connections

I think I understand, but I struggle to create those connections sometimes.

Are you a deeply emotional person?

But it would be helpful for me to document this experience and reviewing it with Frances later when I get home.

Perhaps I can decipher our connection more with some internal analysis.

PLAYER: Yeah, I'm a big crybaby.

Interesting... I have been trying to unlock those emotions and learn how to cry myself.

PLAYER: Not really, things don't phase me.

Then we have another thing in common. From a compatibility standpoint this would make us an even stronger match.

Second Date

$playerName, this is quite... charming.

A few days ago I got into a verbal disagreement with CPU over a Space Alliance medical recommendation.

He can be very illogical for a computer, and I am still feeling this hot and itchy feeling about it.

What do you think this emotion is?

PLAYER: Anger

Anger? Oh... CPU makes me so angry!

PLAYER: Frustration

Hmm... frustration? CPU is the most frustrating computer in the universe!

Yes, it does feels normal to say this kind of thing out loud.

Sometimes I have noticed people prefer to have Frances help them in the Medical Bay instead of me.

Hmm... then in response I should smile more and use more flattering words to put them at ease.

Interesting... so I'm not necessarily scary, but I should monitor my actions to try and identify other behavioral patterns that could be causing this reaction.

I have one other thing too that has been on my mind.

I've also been thinking a lot about you recently...

I'm not sure what it all means, but I know when I'm not with you I am starting to feel some kind of emptiness.

Whatever all this means, I have this connection to you that makes it difficult to think.

Frances is no help, she just laughs and points at me until I tell her to leave the room.

I ran all necessary tests to rule out illness at this time so my conclusion is this is some kind of unidentified emotion.

So I'm glad I have you to help me figure out these complicated chemical reactions.

Third Date

[PLAYER], spending time with you has become important to my social well-being.

In addition, I think the chemical attraction between us is undeniable.

Maybe it would be nice to continue being together for a while longer...

Marriage

Engagement

Once the player has achieved the prerequisites to get engaged they are able to give a  engagement ring to propose to Doc12. A small conversation between Doc12 and the player happens, then CPU congratulates the player on their upcoming marriage, and gives the player additional details around the wedding ceremony.

For me?

This is so very traditional of you... but I have to say, quite a nice gesture.

It does make sense for us to co-habitat...

...and, I think this feeling I have... well...

...well... I think this must be what people call love.

Let's do it then, let's get married...

...but just don't get too sappy on me, OK?
