Friendship

Cinematics are triggered from different friendship levels, and can trigger when one or more characters reach a certain level, and the player enters the area of that scene.

Starship Romance (1)

To trigger this cinematic cutscene the player must have Doc12, Jimmy, Frances, or Robert at good friend friendship status or higher. It can be triggered any day of the week.

Dates

The player must give Jimmy a date invitation to trigger the date. This does not count towards the two gifts the player can give this character each week, and the player can only go on one date a week with a certain character, but can go on dates with other characters in that same week.

First Date

You know [PLAYER], I actually had to sneak away from the shop to meet you here.

Thank goodness the old cargo elevator escape trick still works on my dad.

Sorry, I'm probably a little dusty still. \n\n*pats dust out of hair*

But I'm glad I came. This is nice...

I don't get out much you know. Typical star-child story I suppose. Kinda raised in the space ports here and there.

Actually did my dad ever tell you about why we started the general store here?

PLAYER: Oh yeah, he told me.

Yeah? He probably gave you the whole business is important speech, but that's not the whole story really.

PLAYER: No. He didn't say.

Yeah. He doesn't like talking about it much.

It's because of my mom. Well, ...kinda.

She passed away when I was 5 or so. It was some kind of 'space virus' that is pretty rare.

After she was gone, my dad only focused on his work.

Eventually we got the option for this gig aboard a Space Alliance ship. It was a big opportunity to travel so far out into the quadrant, but it's also pretty isolating too.

I think he wanted that isolation, and to be honest it wasn't really up to me. So here we are.

I never even had time to give it much thought. But recently I have been wondering what I've missed out on by being stuck in this work routine for so long.

Don't get me wrong, I've made some good friends here. Especially now that you are aboard. But...

...do you ever wonder if this is all life has to offer sometimes?

PLAYER: I do.

Even you? You seem like you have life pretty figured out. I actually admire that a lot.

PLAYER: I don't think about those things much.

Maybe things happened more naturally for you, but I think I'll be an old man running this shop if I don't make some changes.

I was thinking... I really like photography, but I just never make time to do it.

It seems like such a competitive job so maybe I've been scared to try... but I just keep getting drawn back to it.

Second Date

Oh wow. This is even more romantic than our first date.

You really think of everything and even set the scene for us.

I feel like maybe you've done this before. *smiles*

You know, I didn't want to embarrass myself on our first date, but that was my first date. Like, ever.

I've had a few crushes in the past and we've hung out, but nothing like a formal date invitation until now.

Although... you seem to be rubbing off on me. In fact, I'd probably ask you out first if I saw you nowadays.

Everything just seems brighter recently. I've been so focused and time is just flying by.

So now that you're here, I wanted to get your opinion on something...

They are not great, they're not even good...

Collections of high-quality printed photos are scattered throughout the pages.

There are dozens of colorful planetary photos, alien plant lifeforms, and even a few candid shots of crew members hard at work.

Tada! My first collection of photographs hot off the printer.

I know... I know... there are a lot of different types, but I'm just inspired by lots of things.

Which type of photos do you usually like to look at?

You know a lot of these things, no one has ever seen outside of this quadrant either.

PLAYER: Space and landscapes.

Yeah! Those are my favorite too. I can't wait to get more like that.

PLAYER: Plants and animals.

I knew you would say that... I was thinking of you when I was taking these ones especially.

These are from our time onboard this mission. It's just our small crew discovering them for the first time.

I wonder if they have any value?

Do you think people back at Space Alliance would want to see these photos?

Well, you said it. I guess I have no choice then huh?

I'm just going to have to take more time for myself photo documenting our journey and seeing where it takes me.

Third Date

[PLAYER], you always know how to surprise me.

I couldn't have asked for a better date.

Engagement

Once the player has achieved the prerequisites to get engaged they are able to give a  engagement ring to propose to Jimmy. A small conversation between Jimmy and the player happens, then CPU congratulates the player on their upcoming marriage, and gives the player additional details around the wedding ceremony.

I have never felt more confident in any decision.

Yes, absolutely yes.

And I promise to make you as happy as you make me.

Now we just have to get through the wedding so we can live happily ever after.
