This page has the event information for Lin.
Friendship
Cutscenes triggered from different friendship levels, can trigger when one or more characters reach a certain level, and the player enters the area of that scene.
Book Club (1)
To trigger this cinematic cutscene the player must have Lin, Sprout, or Max at good friend friendship status or higher. It can be triggered any day of the week, and will begin when the player enters the medical and science deck.
Okay everyone, welcome back to [SHIP NAME]'s Bookworm Book Club.
How did you all like our last book?
This one was my favorite so far! The main character was so cool and funny. *gushy*
I also really enjoyed all the visuals about the landscapes and animals.
What about you Max? Did you enjoy the book?
Max scans the entire book in a few seconds.
...you can't just read the whole book right at the book club meeting.
You need to absorb it. Analyze the story details before you arrive so that we can have a discussion about it.
I took all kinds of notes about the characters and how they grew throughout the story and everything.
*Sprout shows Max pages of careful notes*
I finished the story just fine. It ends halfway down on page 318.
Haha yes, we believe you read it Max. That's not what we mean.
Is there anything interesting about the story you would like to share with us maybe?
Yes. There were 14 spelling mistakes and 31 grammatical errors.
But that is not uncommon for human writings. I just didn't think it was worth mentioning before.
Oh brother. There he goes again!
Sorry Max, but if I was the teacher, I would give you a big fat INCOMPLETE on this assignment.
Well let's not go that far, but maybe you should try again with a different approach with our next book.
Next time focus on the characters' motivations, thoughts, and feelings. Okay?
Usually with fiction, I refer to the qualified scholars' interpretations...
...but doing my own analysis would be an interesting challenge.
I'll try harder next time.
Since I get to pick this time... here's our next book.
'<i>Nickedemus Geronimo Battles the Pink Robots from Mars!</i>'
It's a fan fiction adventure with loads of action!
Haha alright, good choice. I'm looking forward to it.
Yes. Interesting...
*trails off in thought*
Book Club (2)
To trigger this cinematic cutscene the player must have Lin, Sprout, or Max at best friend friendship status or higher, and must have already seen the first book club cutscene. It can be triggered any day of the week, and will begin when the player enters the medical and science deck.
Welcome again to [SHIP NAME]'s Bookworm Book Club. Part two.
I hope everyone had a chance to really dig into the details of this new book...
'<i>Nickedemus Geronimo Battles the Pink Robots from Mars!</i>'
Well, I for one thought it was fascinating.
Yeah! Nickedemus got his butt kicked in the beginning of the book, but then came back fighting against all odds.
That was so cool when he took on all those robot baddies at the end.
I think it was all the training he did that made him win that final battle.
Yes, he overcame a ton of physical challenges, didn't he?
But I found it most impressive that he also overcame his fear of confronting his twin brother about their complex past.
Did you have any luck relating to this story or our hero Nickedemus?
Again, Max?! I don't believe it.
Did you try to imagine yourself as Nickedemus Geronimo?
I analyzed Nickedemus and 'wore his shoes' as the saying goes.
But no matter how I judged his actions I could not help but feel empathy for...
...all those pink robots.
Yes, the robots were programmed to be evil...
But could they choose their own functions or algorithms?
Did they have the autonomy that we all take for granted?
Perhaps, Nickedemus could have peacefully resolved the conflict if a good understanding of robotics was introduced.
He acted quite illogically in my opinion.
Yes. The pink robots were very logical and predictable. I related to that the most.
Since 'evil' was a parameter and not a constant, there could have been an easy resolution here.
Nickedemus's illogical choices got him into deeper and deeper conflict amongst the robots.
It is Space Alliance Principle #4. He should have known better.
Wow Max... I had never thought of it like that.
I'm not sure that was the intent of our writer, but that is the beauty of our book club.
We can all share our unique perspectives.
Thank you for elaborating, Max. I think you really taught us something today.
I'd give you an A+ this time!
Why thank you, Sprout. That means a lot coming from you.
Dates
The player must give Lin a date invitation to trigger the date. This does not count towards the two gifts the player can give this character each week, and the player can only go on one date a week with a certain character, but can go on dates with other characters in that same week.
First Date
This is just lovely, [PLAYER]. Thank you so much for asking me to come here with you.
To be honest, I'm kind of surprised you asked me...
You do know, everyone is going to be gossiping about our date tomorrow...
I'm always so uncomfortable in the spotlight. *stressed out*
I don't know about you, but when I was a kid, I was the awkward one sitting in the corner at birthday parties.
I suppose being covered in dirt with ripped farm clothes didn't help either. *giggles*
PLAYER: Definitely.
*giggles* Then maybe... I would have invited you to my super-secret hangout on the farm.
PLAYER: Actually the opposite.
Oh yeah? I can picture you all neat and tidy trying to avoid me digging around in the garden.
But I probably would have chased you off with a worm or something eventually.
*giggles*... Oh, this is so nice... to just laugh and get along so easily.
Do you get along with everyone this easily?
PLAYER: Most of the time.
Really? Then I'll have to take some notes from you about how to come out of my shell more.
PLAYER: It's usually hard work for me too.
That makes me feel so special. We must just have a strong natural connection or something.
I really only have a few close friends... and my parents, of course. They were always very encouraging.
Our farm has been run by my family for many generations, so one day I hope to return to take care of them and the farm again.
Did you have a supportive family growing up?
PLAYER: I did! They are great.
That's wonderful... and I bet we both have some pretty embarrassing family stories we can share with each other.
PLAYER: Not exactly...
Oh no. I hope I didn't make you feel uncomfortable. I always say the wrong thing... but I hope you know you can always turn to me for support anytime you need it.
I consider my close friends part of my family too, so I'm very excited that our friendship is still growing.
You know, I've never met someone that I feel so comfortable with this quickly. *blushes*
Uhhh... well, I can't believe how fast the time has gone by...
...and I hope I didn't bore you too much with my stories.
I had a really nice time, and maybe I'll see you around? I mean... I'm sure I'll see you around... uhh...
What I mean is, I hope maybe we can see each other again soon.
Second Date
[PLAYER], did you really put all of this together just for us?
Secretly... I was kind of hoping you would ask me out again. *blushes*
Now that we have some time together, I wanted to ask your advice on something.
I feel like you are the only person I trust to give me an honest opinion.
Since I've been aboard this ship, I've been working on creating my own plant variations and soil combinations to produce better food sources in space.
Well... I have been offered some funding to expand my research if I publish the results for Space Alliance.
I guess I just can't believe they actually noticed my work.
What do you think I should do?
PLAYER: I believe in you! Go for it!
You do? Really? I can't imagine anything more important than sharing my research with others and improving their lives.
PLAYER: I would hold off for a bit.
Hmm, it would be a lot easier to just focus on our mission, but is it enough?
You know, I've really admired how hard you work around here and how much you help others.
It kind of got me wondering if I'm capable of more too?
It's just that sometimes doubt creeps in. Do you know what I mean?
PLAYER: We've all been there.
You're right. I know everybody struggles sometimes. I just wish I had all the answers so I don't make the wrong decision.
PLAYER: Not really...
I'm not surprised, you do always seem to carry yourself with great confidence.
But I know I shouldn't run away from opportunities... especially when this is what I love to do.
Do you ever think about what you would do if you could do anything in the universe?
Would you still want to be a captain?
PLAYER: Yes, I love being a captain.
Well I can see that you do, and I couldn't picture you doing anything else either.
PLAYER: Maybe something else.
Oh really? I could see you being good at so many things. You just have to figure out what you love to do.
No matter what happens in the future, I'll always be here supporting you as you have supported me.
And who knows, maybe something truly wonderful will come from all of this.
I mean something wonderful has already come from our relationship for me. *blushes*
Oh potato! I have to say goodbye already, [PLAYER].
You are such a wonderful person. Thank you for just being you.
*blushes* I... well... I'll miss you.
But... I'll be crossing my fingers to see you again soon.
Third Date
[PLAYER], I'm so happy being here... together.
I feel like I can talk to you about anything. It's the best part of our relationship.
I guess you're just stuck with me from now on. *giggles*
Marriage
Engagement
Once the player has achieved the prerequisites to get engaged they are able to give a engagement ring to propose to Lin. A small conversation between Lin and the player happens, then CPU congratulates the player on their upcoming marriage, and gives the player additional details around the wedding ceremony.
...I just need a moment...
I mean are you sure? I mean, I'm sure... but are you sure? I mean sure?!
What's wrong with me? I really mean of course! Yes! Yes!
I don't think I've even been so tongue tied before. But so happy too.
Oh boy, aren't you lovestruck!
...and let me be the first to say...
<size=12>CONGRATULATIONS!!!</size>
You really do make a great couple...I'm just so emotional about it all.
This calls for an extra big wedding celebration... full of flowers, good food, streamers, romance, oh and lots of dancing.
I'd be happy to perform the ceremony too... and I won't take no for an answer!
I'll schedule the ceremony in about a week's time.
We both better get moving, there is so much planning to do before the wedding...
. . .*runs task mode*. . .
